1. Yellow Pasque (Mongolia flower found in Birch Forest)

The yellow pasque mongolia flower is a perennial herb that flowers towards the beginning of May to July.

Scientifically called Pulsatilla Apiifolia, you will find it growing in larch and birch forest, forest fringes, pine forests, river Valleys, Kobresia meadows.

Traditionally, Mongolians use the roots for treating scurvy, broken bones and diarrhoea.

You can find the yellow pasque flower in the Birch forest near Ulaanbaatar. But this mongolia flower is rare in the Steppe slopes.

The Edelweiss blooms between May and September so it will be a sight to see if you visit Mongolia at this time.  It is commonly found from the mountain steppe to the mountain belt in Mongolia. It is very well known since it is a national symbol especially in Romania, Austria, Bulgaria, Slovenia and Switzerland.

Traditionally, the folks believe giving this flower to a loved one is like a promise of dedication.  In the ancient Mongolia, it was used to make a foot pad for boots to help treat low blood pressure.

Gorkhi Tereji National Park has an abundant and beautiful collection of this Mongolia flower - the Edelweiss.
